High morale and staff satisfaction are essential for high performance and retention and this is tested bi-annually by an Employee Opinion Survey. Out of 61 questions in the 2005 Survey, 22 received a positive response of 80% or more and 38 received a positive response of 90% or higher. The 2007 questionnaires have been sent out recently.

Recognition is high on the agenda. Worldwide we recognise our top employees through our VLP Programme (Very Lyreco People) to ensure that employees are highly motivated and focused. Last year the top 33 employees from the UK and Ireland enjoyed a week in South Africa. This year 36 people have the chance to experience the delights of India.

Long service is valued and employees with 10, 15 and 20 or more years’ service join our Employees of the Year at a special annual Awards evening dinner hosted by our Managing Director.
