From the day a new employee joins Lyreco they are supported by a comprehensive framework for training, learning and development.
Our wide array of National Business Awards is testimony to our commitment and success in providing a centre of excellence through which people can learn via accredited training programmes so gaining professional and vocational qualifications. Management and Leadership skills are developed through an extensive modular programme.
Employees have responsibility for taking control of their careers but managers are responsible for providing guidance, support, training opportunities and direction. Lyreco has achieved Investor in People accreditation with special recognition for Leadership Skills. This National Quality award recognises organisations that improve performance by developing their employees.
To keep on track, individual objectives, career and development action plans are reviewed at one-to-one meetings and six-monthly appraisals. In 2004 675 promotions were confirmed with people either progressing through their grading structure or appointed to a new position.
The 2005 Employee Opinion Survey indicated that very nearly 90% of employees were happy with both their opportunity to progress and with their manager’s ability to recognise employee expectations in terms of career development.
